Alomari Mosque, Jabalya , Gaza

The idea was prompted us to design this project, the principle of volunteerism, and get off the street and close contact with people, people and workers and engineers.

Actually, we started the working on the morning of Wednesday, we visited the site for analysis, and we did surveying for the building, and toured all over the place, and we meet the people there.

The project was an ancient mosque in northern Gaza, Jabaliya, where the mosque is to be transformed into a cultural center, to educate people about the importance of architectural heritage and community service, and the mosque contains the oldest minaret in Gaza.

We have worked with each other in an integrated team, my colleague Mustafa Asi modeled the building on sketch up program,Mohammad Darwish Rendered it on 3d max ,Naeem Rustam designed the elevations, Aburrahman Shurafa modeled of the minaret, and then I landscaped the site. Landscaping and gardening site in such a case is very important, where the fixed strips that shaded by a tree does not block the view of the historical building, the fountain and cascading of water, that give calm and tranquility. The building low-up from the surrounding, making the project more exciting, I have designed a metal staircase down to the building align the street, To the space in front of the main gate. Give respect and sanctity of the place. Also the front garden were calm, and provides a special atmosphere of the building, Images speak about themselves.

Omar Khairat

Omar Khairat

Omar Khairat (Arabic: عمر خيرت; also spelled Omar Khayrat) is an Egyptian musician. He was born in Cairo in 1949 and belongs to an artistic family. His uncle the composer Abu Bakr Khairat, was the founder of the Egyptian Conservatory institution and was its first dean. In 1959, Khairat joined the Conservatory (Cairo Conservatoire) and studied piano and musical theory. After graduating, he continued his studies at Trinity College of Music in London. In parallel, he became involved in international popular music and jazz and played the drums for one of the top bands in Egypt, Les Petits Chats. This experience added another dimension to his musical influences.

After receiving his degrees in piano and musical theory, he started composing music for the Egyptian Cinema, Television, and Theatre. In addition, he wrote music for Egyptian Ballet. His music was influenced by Arabic and European classical music, Egyptian and African traditional music and also, jazz, pop and blues. What makes his music different is his way of combining western and eastern musical instruments.
His career as a pianist began in 1979, when his various works started to gain recognition from both listeners and critics. His first major work was the musical score for the very popular movie, "The Night of Fatima's Arrest". The music of that movie was his first hit and it was widely loved by the public. It was the first time in the music industry of Egypt to have a movie score be reproduced as an audio cassette, which became a milestone in the middle eastern music industry as whole.
Besides his compositions, he rearranged and performed with his orchestra several music for an older famous Egyptian composer,Mohammed Abdel Wahab

Among his many compositions:

GRC Material

GRC what's GRC ?

Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete or GRC is one of the most versatile building materials available to architects and engineers. Composed principally of cement, sand and special alkali resistant (AR) glassfibres, GRC is a thin, high strength concrete with many applications in construction .

Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (sometimes called Glassfibre Reinforced Cement) is a mixture of cement, fine aggregate, water, chemical admixtures and alkali resistant glassfibres.
There are a number of different manufacturing processes; the most common are Hand-Spray and Premix, see manufacturing GRC.

Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) is a material which today is making a significant contribution to the economics, to the technology and to the aesthetics of the construction industry worldwide.
This environmentally friendly composite, with its low consumption of energy and natural raw materials, is being formed into a great variety of products and has won firm friends amongst designers, architects, engineers and end users for its flexible ability to meet performance, appearance and cost parameters.
Since its introduction in 1969, GRC has matured and todays' designer has available to him, depending upon his performance requirements, a range of matrix modifiers such as acrylic polymers, rapid set cements and additives to improve the long term stability of the material. Extensive independent test and performance data are available on all aspects of matrix formulation.
The Alkali Resistant glassfibre is generally used at the 3-5% level in the manufacture of factory finished prefabricated products either by the spray process or using traditional concrete casting methods.
It is also used in the 1-2% range for reinforced renders as a site applied mix and can also be used to control plastic shrinkage cracking, microcracking and bleeding of site-cast concrete.
